Sectional Results and Photos

Lizzy and Erica ran Saturday morning in easily the most competitive Sectional in the State. 3 of the top 8 teams in the state are in KC and the qualifying times coming out of KC were faster than any other Sectional in the State. We were very proud of our Lady Panthers and their performances Saturday. Erica finished 39th with a PR of 20:28 (over a minute faster than her Sectional time from last year) and Lizzy toughed out and finished her race while dealing with immense pain in her hip. The boys qualified Gus Whitman and Tucker Melles, and we send them our fastest thoughts.

Congratulations to Lizzy, Erica and Margaret for qualifying for the Sectional meet on October 27th. We are very happy with our District team and their great performances at the difficult Liberty course.
Sectionals are back at Raymore Peculiar, the same course as KC Metro and the Ray-Pec invite. The girls race at 9:40am. New this year, the District 3A race will also be at Ray Pec on the same day as our sectional.

Race Location:

Hillyard’s Technical Center.  3434 Faraon St.  Saint Joseph, MO.  Take I-29 North to 36 Hwy West.  Exit at Belt Highway and turn Rt. (north).  Follow the Belt to the stoplight at Faraon.  Turn Left.  (There is a Starbuck’s on the corner)  Go one block and the course will be on your Left.  Parking surrounds the building.  The building will be open for restroom use.

Grandview Results and KC Metro Info

Our Varsity girls placed 4th on Thursday at the Grandview invitational held at Longview Community College. Medal winners were: Lizzy -9th, Madeline 11th, Erica 14th, Margaret 29th and Charlie 30th. Our JV girls placed 5th and Hanna earned a medal, finishing in 18th.
Next week, we will see where we stack up against the other teams in the city at the KC METRO City Championships, held in Peculiar. Most importantly, we will see how much faster we are than we were on the same course 3 weeks ago. We will see the course again at the Sectional meet on October 27th.

Platte City Results

Our Varsity girls took 5th after a Smithville, Liberty North, Staley and Platte County. Our JV girls took 2nd to Kearney. It was another cool and wet day, but the girls had great times. I am really looking forward to seeing how the girls compete in two weeks at the Metro Championships in Peculiar. Ray Pec Results and Platte City Info

The Lady Panthers finished 4th in both the Varsity and Junior Varsity races at the Ray Pec invite on Saturday. This week, our meet is on Thursday at Platte Ridge Park.

Course location: From I-29 take the MO-273 exit- EXIT 20- toward MO-92 / ATCHISON / WESTON / LEAVENWORTH. You will only be on 92 hwy a few yards Turn right(north) on 371 hwy.  You will see an antique mall on your right.  The park is on the left side(west) appx. 1.5 miles.

Directions to Ray - Pec

These directions are provided by the hosting school.

Directions:           From Kansas

Take 435 East to the Grandview triangle and take 71 Highway South towards Grandview.  Continue South on 71 Highway about 15 minutes past Grandview. Continue past 150 Highway.  Continue South past 155^th Street, Belton, Raymore. Seven more miles to the Peculiar Exit.  Take the exit and turn left over the highway.  Go to the outer road that goes to the left, North. Go 1.5 miles and you will come to the 5^th & 6th Grade Center.  Ignore this and go left around the curve. Go pass the new freshman center, pass the high School, pass the church and the next building is the Middle School. The course is behind the Middle School.

From Lee’s Summit area from 50 Highway

Take 291 South towards Harrisonville.  Going south you will pass 150 Highway. Continue south to the light at 58 Highway.  Turn right, west, about 4 miles to J highway.  Turn Left which is South on to J Highway.  Go south about 4 miles to 211^th Street. Turn right, West, and go about 1 mile.  There will be a school and the track on your right.  Ignore them and go straight through the stop sign.  Go around the curve and about ¼ mile you will pass the high school.  Continue past the church and the next building is the Middle School the course is behind the Middle School.

From the North

Take 435 South to the Grandview Triangle and take 71 South towards Grandview.

What a day for cross country! Today's meet brought together many of the key characteristics to cross country: tough minds, tough legs and MUD!!! While official results haven't been posted, here are the times we have for our Lady Panthers. Thanks to all the families and friends who braved the sloppy weather to come and watch us!
